Mr. Pit’s commitment to education is best reflected in the Swadhin Charitable Trust, founded in 2009. “Swadhin,” meaning “independent” in Bengali, reflects the trust’s objective: to empower individuals through education and skill development. The prime objective of his social activities has been to protect the minority people and tribal communities of West Bengal.
Since its inception, Swadhin has fostered partnerships with over 67 institutes across West Bengal, offering comprehensive programs from primary education to higher studies. These partnerships encompass 20+ government and private ITIs (Industrial Training Institutes), polytechnics, skill development centers, B.Ed colleges, 6+ Nursing Institutes and other educational institutions.
