EducationWorld Education Conference 2021

World Education Conference [WEC Online] 2021

Covid-19 has been an eye-opener and yardstick to see how dynamic, flexible, and modern your education system is. Over 1.6 billion learners globally are affected by the Covid-19 disruption. However, 86% of children at the primary level have been effectively out of school in poor countries, compared to just 20% in developed countries – reflecting their poor preparedness to handle such disruptions.

India’s adoption of the National Education Policy (NEP) in 2020 envisions the needs of young and aspiring India. The NEP-2020 sets an agenda for India to become a Global Knowledge Centre in the next couple of decades or so. While 2020 has been a year of disruption, 2021 is crucial for India and the world to give a fresh start.

Suggestions & Recommendations:

Role of regulators for post-pandemic: All education boards are working and preparing for post covid opening. vocational training of each student which is very much needed for a student to have a practical experience that will help them to take part in internships and placement in the future.

National Education Policy 2020 – Future of Education & Implementation Roadmap: New Education Policy 2020 was approved by a central authority and is expected to be implemented this year. The NEP 2020 has envisioned a new education system by reforming quite a few key areas and Successful implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP2020) demands a long-term vision, availability of expertise on a sustained basis, and concerted action from all concerned encompassing National, State, institutional, and individual levels to have a proper comprehension of the building basis and structure of NEP 2020 and the implementation procedure and devising a workable roadmap for future implementation of NEP 2020.

The purpose of NEP 2020 was to democratise education: Education was limited to individual jurisdiction but the purpose of this policy is to democratise education by decentralising the system and making it interactive and participative and more of a concerted effort. The successful implementation will also need a push and pull reaction from micro and macro educational bodies and voluntary and spontaneous work as the wait and welcome towards building a new policy has finished now all we need is work from people from every single layer of the education system.

Educational Challenges and Possibilities in Northeast Today: Collaborations Possible Ahead: This year has seen a monumental adaptation of digital education and this has ensured a plethora of chain reactions. The digital medium has no doubt bridged the gap of communication that the global pandemic has caused and this session discussed how we could leverage digital disruption for sustainable, productive, equitable, and inclusive education in 2021.

Education – Future Forward: This is a great idea of the learner and teacher model. They should convert the policy into some achievable goals for it. It’s okay to lay down the policy. You have a policy, but if you don’t have the goal how do you achieve it?” he also put the idea of how an educational institution needs to do holistic development of a person who enters that institution.

Building Indian higher education to that of the global standard: We need global exchange and engagement, sharing, and collaboration for enriched research among others. Asian countries are becoming more dominant in global education in recent times.

Conclusion

The last year 2020 has brought a major change in our education system and as the new year, 2021 commenced the need to bring a renewed balance to our education system was a much-needed step. This educational conference was supported by educational institutes and several other organizations across India and it was only realized by the way it was conducted by all of their humble co-operation. The three days of magnificent events came to an end with a Vote of Thanks by Mr. Akram Hoque, Founder Editor, The Policy Times.
