Sustainability Leaders’ Delegation to Thailand Aims to Promote India’s EPR Glory

45 Sustainability leaders are travelling to Thailand led by India’s leading policy advocacy platform – Policy Times during 6-9 November 2024 to discuss and promote India’s net-zero mission, waste management rules and EPR story

New Delhi: Policy Times Chamber of Commerce, an association for business development and policy advocacy, is leading a EPR leaders’ Delegation to Thailand during 6-9 November 2024. The delegation will participate in a Roundtable- “Dialogue on Circular Economy (EPR)” on 7th of November 2024 in Bangkok where sustainability leaders of two Asian tigers – India and Thailand will exchange best practices, thoughts and promote mutual cooperation to attain circularity.

India’s Act East Policy is an important part of its Indo-Pacific vision. In his address at the inaugural ceremony of the 16th India-ASEAN Summit in Bangkok, Prime Minister Narender Modi said that integrated, organized and economically developing ASEAN is in India’s basic interest.

With the growing prospects of India-Thailand relations through forums like ASEAN, EAS, BIMSTEC, MGC, ACD and IORA, this elite delegation looks forward to further strengthen this partnership and create stronger ties on both sides with special focus on resource efficiency and carbon neutrality.

Policy Times’ delegation to Thailand coincides with BRICS Summit in Kazan from October 22 to 24, 2024, where  BRICS nations has vouched for strong outcomes at the upcoming annual climate summit on climate finance for developing countries. The Kazan Declaration ‘Strengthening Multilateralism for Just Global Development and Security’ at the 16th BRICS Summit also advocated for amplifying the voice of the Global South through cooperation.

Objectives of the delegation include fostering cross border collaboration in circular economy, learning success stories, best practices and effective collaboration for capacity building and experts’ trainings.  The delegation will also focus on stimulating B2B and B2G connect during the visit with focus on EPR practices in sectors like Electronics, Tyre and Battery in addition to plastics.

This will give an exclusive opportunity to promote India’s net zero mission, waste management policies and EPR story, says delegation leads – Mr. Sachin Sharma, Director, & Mr. Paras Gupta, Director – Sustainability, GEM Enviro Management Limited. Mr. Akram Hoque, Secretary of the delegation and of Policy Times further said that Policy Times aims to lead many future international delegations to ASEAN and Arab countries for cross border collaboration and promote India’s glory and achievements in sustainability.
