Representatives of various religions, participated in Interfaith Harmony Conclave in Mumbai

Mumbai, February 6, 2025

The Interfaith Harmony Conclave, organized by Blossom Media Pvt. Ltd. under the leadership of Managing Director Ubaidur Rehman Khan and Event Director Ziaulla Nomani, was successfully hosted at Islam Gymkhana. The event, which was a support program to World Interfaith Harmony Week, an official observance of the United Nations and a global initiative proposed by His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan, brought together religious scholars, diplomats, business leaders, and social organizations to foster dialogue on peace and coexistence.

The conclave reinforced the importance of Religious tolerance and the celebration of pluralism in diverse societies.

The event comprises three sessions;

Panel Discussion on Humanity and Interfaith Harmony

A thought-provoking panel discussion featured distinguished speakers representing four major world religions namely:

Buddhism – Dr. Bhadant Rahul Bodhi, a renowned Buddhist monk with a strong presence in India, Bangkok, and Thailand.

Hinduism – Baba Satyanam Das from Udasin Ashram, one of the oldest hermitages of the Sanatan Hindu tradition.

Islam – Mufti Sufiyan Vanu, an Islamic scholar of jurisprudence and a Hafiz from the Grand Mosque, Makkah, Saudi Arabia.

Christianity – Father K.T. Emmanuel, Secretary to the Archbishop of Mumbai and Judge of the Metropolitan Tribunal of the Archdiocese of Bombay.

With the theme “Accepting Religious Differences and Celebrating Pluralism in Diverse Societies”, the panellists emphasized the significance of mutual respect and understanding in a diverse world. The interactive session allowed the audience to engage in meaningful dialogue with the scholars, fostering deeper interfaith connections.

Dignitaries and Special Guests

The conclave witnessed the participation of around 200 businessmen and representatives of various faith-based non-profits, further reinforcing the spirit of interfaith cooperation. Adding to its significance, distinguished diplomats attended and shared their perspectives on harmony and peace in multicultural societies, including:

Representatives from the U.S. Consulate in Mumbai, the Consul General of Malaysia

The Trade and Economic Consul of Indonesia participated in this conclave and also honoured the Champions of Peace and Harmony.

The second session was the
presentation of the Mumbai Heroes Award, which recognized individuals from various faiths dedicated to peace, communal harmony, and working for societal betterment.

The awards were presented by esteemed guests, aiming to boost morale and inspire others to take up the cause of humanity, peace, religious tolerance, and mutual respect.

Third Session Symbolizing Unity and Harmony

The event concluded with a Unity Dinner, the cuisine was such that it represented every participating religion, symbolizing collective harmony and shared commitment to interfaith dialogue and coexistence. The Interfaith Harmony Conclave once again proved to be a powerful platform for fostering mutual respect, understanding, and a shared vision for a more harmonious world.
