Educational Visionary and Driving Force Behind Swadhin Charitable Trust

Mr. Pit’s commitment to education is best reflected in the Swadhin Charitable Trust, founded in 2009. “Swadhin,” meaning “independent” in Bengali, reflects the trust’s objective: to empower individuals through education and skill development. The prime objective of his social activities has been to protect the minority people and tribal communities of West Bengal.

Since its inception, Swadhin has fostered partnerships with over 67 institutes across West Bengal, offering comprehensive programs from primary education to higher studies. These partnerships encompass 20+ government and private ITIs (Industrial Training Institutes), polytechnics, skill development centers, B.Ed colleges, 6+ Nursing Institutes and other educational institutions.

Santiniketan Medical College: A vital force in the fight for quality healthcare

Mr. Pit’s dedication to quality healthcare is epitomized by the establishment of the Santiniketan Medical College (SMC) in 2020. This pioneering venture, the first of its kind in India, exemplifies a public-private partnership model under the National Medical Commission Act.

The SMC is driven by a commitment to transformative Learning Experiences. The college provides modern laboratories, state-of-the-art equipment, and highly trained staff to ensure enriching medical education. The affiliated teaching hospital, under the supervision of NITI Aayog, provides compassionate and affordable medical care. The SMC aims to produce globally competent medical professionals with a strong dedication to serving humanity.

Gobindapur Sephali Samaj Seba Samity: This non-profit organization provides technical and non-technical training to enable individuals to run educational institutions effectively. It also offers livelihood training programs to uplift communities.

Swatirtha Charitable Trust: Established during the COVID-19 pandemic, this trust focused on sustaining rural livelihoods through expanded plantation and agricultural activities. It also provided food, physical activity classes, motivational lectures, and e-learning materials to empower the rural community. Provided Alternate Livelihood opportunities to more than 450 Households of ST & SC categories through Agriculture projects
